Every picture has a story. While there’s no wrong way to photograph your newborn and certainly no shame in doing so yourself, baby photojournalists are skilled in the craft of professional photography and telling the story of your baby’s first moments.

Following the popularity of wedding photography, baby photojournalists have sprung up to service the growing demand of documenting the early moments that will shape your child’s life forever.

After being handed her first camera at the young age of eight, for example, Jessie Kimmel in Canada has founded This Moment Now Photographic. Now that she’s more seasoned with the art of baby photojournalism, she’s charging $1,200 for a shoot that spans your baby’s first year of life.

But once your baby photojournalist does his or her job, how do you do yours and share them with your family, friends and (if you so desire) the world? Building a Web site doesn’t have to be scary.

While there are a number of cheap ways to build a Web site, nothing beats free. A blog (just like the very blog you’re reading now) can be yours as well for the low price of free using two of the most popular and easy-to-use services out there: Google’s Blogger and WordPress.

Blogger and WordPress are both free and can have your blog up and running in minutes. You can select from a wide variety of pre-made templates and then customize them to your heart’s content.

Before you get started, though, you’ll need to decide where you want to host your site to sport all your baby’s new pictures. You can host your site with Blogger, for example, using a domain name like http://yourblogname.blogspot.com.

If you want a more personalized Web domain such as http://www.yourwebsite.com, though, you’ll have to pay for it through a cheap (and likely a “shared”) hosting service like GoDaddy. MyBabyPhotos.net, for example, has done that with its Web site hosting.

For Mac users, Apple has an excellent software program pre-installed called iWeb. Just like Blogger and WordPress don’t require you to know HTML coding, iWeb makes things similarly simple for you.

Instead of merely creating a blog designed for regular text updates, iWeb will allow you to build a pain-free Web site from scratch that’s more geared to your baby photos. iWeb also specializes in elegant, simple-to-create and simple-to-navigate photo albums.

Lastly, you should consider professional built blogs that showcase every aspect of your baby’s first year of life. They include personalized web addresses, music and include beautiful themes for boys and girls. These services have both free and premium versions that range in price from $30-$40 for a year of hosting. Examples include:

They all offer a 30 day money back guarantee and make an excellent gift for busy moms that have no time to build a baby blog from scratch. Besides making an excellent gift, one unique feature that I liked was the ability to convert the full site to a PDF and keepsake CD to treasure long after your baby’s first year ends.
