Now that your little guy or gal is two-years-old, it is time to get pedaling! Before the age of two, your little one would likely have a great deal of trouble reaching the pedals and finding the strength and coordination it takes to push the pedals. After the age of two, however, he or she should be ready to start exploring the great big world of three-wheeled mobility! And, of course, you will want to be sure to capture this special time in your child’s life with some great photos. Here’s a look at some pictures to get you inspired.
Finding the Right Angle
As with any photo, finding the right angle or choosing the right perspective will result in an amazing photo. The following photos are excellent examples of how the angle and perspective you choose can result in a truly memorable picture.
The wide angle used with this photo does an excellent job of demonstrating how big the world is that your little one is getting ready to explore.
At the same time, you can get a similar affect by taking a close up photo, such as the one below.
Not only does this photo do an excellent job of capturing the wonder and curiosity of the little boy as he rides his tricycle, the colors in the photo are very vibrant while the blurred flowers in the background create an almost dream-like quality.
The same is true of the photo below. Although this photo does not include as much of the surrounding landscape, you can clearly see the road ahead that is left to be conquered. Again, color plays an important role in this photo, as the child is very colorful while the landscape is darker and muted. This draws the attention to the child while still creating a sense of exploration. The photo is made even more charming by the fact that this little guy is taking his teddy bear along for the ride.
The angle used with the following photo also does an excellent job of demonstrating what a massive undertaking it can be to ride a tricycle. It looks like this little guy is taking a break!
Going Black and White
Although color can go along way toward making your tricycle photos more memorable, black and white photos will be a lovely addition to your photo album as well. As can be seen with this photo, taking it in black and white helps create a more classic, child-like feeling than it would have been in full color.
The same is true of this black and white photo, which does a great job of capturing the look of determination on this little cyclist’s face.
This little girl looks quite proud of her accomplishments as well.
Feeling the Emotion
Of course, your photo doesn’t have to be taken in black and white in order to successfully capture the look of determination on your little one’s face. With the photo below, for example, capturing a full color side view of your determined child on his or her tricycle can create a truly adorable photo.
Going for a ride on his or her trike will also likely make your little one feel quite proud. So, you might want to try to capture this look as well. This little girl, for example, appears to be quite pleased with herself.
As does this little girl (and don’t you just love the fact that she still found the time to get all gussied up in her little dress before going for a ride?)
Getting Crazy with the Trike
Once your little guy or gal starts to become more comfortable with the tricycle, it is almost guaranteed that he or she will start to get a bit wilder. This little girl, for example, has decided that she doesn’t need to wear any pants while riding her tricycle!

This guy, on the other hand, is wearing his safety gear as he starts to experiment with some trick riding.
This little girl is taking it a step further and feels ready to stand on her seat as she rides.
And, all you moms out there, it is inevitable that daddy (or uncle, or grandpa or virtually any other man you know) will want to reclaim his past by hopping on the tricycle and showing your little one how it is done. So, make sure to have a camera handy and to snap a photo of this fiasco so you can show him just how ridiculous he really looked!
