Have you ever wondered how to create a photo montage of your child’s special moments on a timeline? It can be fun to put one together with some free resources available on the net. I did a little hunting around and my favorite resource is called Graphic Life Map developed by Patricia Schulze and Traci Gardner for Read Write Think.

The website Read Write Think provides educators and students with access to the highest quality resources in reading and language arts instruction through free, internet-based content. In fact, the Graphic Life Map is actually a educational lesson geared towards having students create their own timeline.

The coolest part of the Graphic Life Map lesson is the tool they provide that helps you make your own timeline in Flash called Graphic Map. You can really have fun with it using icons of important life events and integrating your kids favorite photo moments into the timeline.

If you want to take it to the next level, another resource I found is a custom Timeline template you can use in Microsoft Excel. This one is quite flexible and open to enhancements thru Excel, but it can be tricky to line everything up the way you want it.
