Learn Digital Scrapbooking with Jessica Sprague
Whether you’re new to digital scrapbooking or an old pro, you won’t be disappointed with JessicaSprague.com for improving your baby and child scrapbooking talents. Jessica Sprague’s site offers tips, tutorials, classes, forums, and galleries for digital scrapbooking, photography, and organization of materials. She also has a blog, Square Space, with one of my favorite features, Photoshop Friday. On at least one Friday each month, Jessica posts a Photoshop tutorial related to scrapbooking or photography. You can check out past tutorials on the Photoshop Friday Index on her blog-it’s a great resource!
I have personally taken Jessica’s class, “Up and Running with Photoshop”, and had a fantastic experience! This is a self-paced, online class with step-by-step video tutorials that teach the basics of scrapbooking with Photoshop. I use Photoshop Elements, but this class also applies to those using the more advanced Photoshop Creative Suite. I learned a whole range of skills, from aligning page elements evenly to using digital stamp brushes. The best part is you can start/stop a video at your convenience, so you can take your time or speed it up. I love that you have access to these videos forever-if you forget something you learned in the class, you can always go back and brush up on those skills and techniques.
The other aspect to this site that is really helpful is the Spraground, a forum where anyone can post in questions/answers and tips. When you take a class from Jessica Sprague, there are specific course forums where she and students interact and help each other. If you’ve ever gotten in a scrapbooking rut, the galleries on this site are full of inspiration. Definitely check them out!
The one downside to Jessica Sprague’s site is its popularity. When she offers classes that have a participant limit, these sessions often sell out in less than 10 minutes from when registrations opens. I’m glad she offers some classes that can be taken at any time, but the ones that run for specific time frames can be tough to get into. I’ve found that signing up to be notified for an upcoming class is a huge help, as the site will send you a reminder before registration opens up. So check it out! jessicasprague.com is a wonderful resource and full of easily understood, clear information on scrapbooking and photography.
Jessica Sprague’s photobook layouts are available on Shutterfly.. Very nice themes for children. You catch them here- The ABCs of You designed by Jessica Sprague.
