Twenty years before I even knew what scrapbooking was, I remember my grandmother having this hard cover book she kept close to her favorite chair in the living room. Within the smooth, exquisite exterior of this unique book was a collection of memories, sayings, pictures and thoughts that my grandmother, the former school teacher, kept. Reading through the pages, I felt like I was getting a privileged glimpse into her spirit. From the little cartoons she cut out from her Woman’s Weekly Magazines to the beautifully hand written notes that danced on the pages, it’s still one of my fondest memories of her. Now that she’s gone, our family still has a little piece of her through those books she kept over the years.

Scrapbooking has come a long way since the early 80’s! Not only are more people scrapbooking, it’s become a multi-million dollar industry and there are thousands of websites to prove it. Whether you’re interested in purchasing scrapbooking products online or just need inspiration, I guarantee you’ll find a website that will suite your needs.

The website I chose to profile this week is Two Peas in a Bucket, a website that was chosen as the number one scrapbooking website by Scrapbooking Top 50. I wanted to see for myself if it lived up to the hype.

The first thing that impressed me about Two Peas in a Bucket is how well organized the website sections were. Right on the home page were tabs that highlighted the main areas of interest on the site: Community, Shopping and Ideas.

What I enjoyed most about Two Peas in a Bucket was the blog section. It’s cool to be able to see the work of other scrappers and also get a little glimpse into how they come up with ideas, how they stay organized and where they buy supplies.

If you are looking for some inspiration, this site has a great member gallery that showcases the work of its members. And here’s another free part – I love free stuff – becoming a Two Peas in a Bucket member is free. They ask for billing information but that’s only if you ever decide to purchase products from the site.

If you are into purchasing scrapbooking materials online, there is a whack of great products on this site with new products always at the forefront to keep you up to date. I like their deal of the day. If I can’t get something for free I at least want a deal!

If you’re feeling that your scrapbooking skills just aren’t cutting it, Two Peas in a Bucket offers free online courses as well as free monthly digital scrapbooking kits to help build up your confidence.

My plan was to give the pros and cons of this website but I’ll be honest, I couldn’t find anything missing from this site. It had a great balance of ideas, product reviews and a strong online community including a blog section for its members. I give this website four and a half camera clicks out of five, only because we have to give them a bit of room to improve on. Overall, Two Peas in a Bucket is a great resource for avid scrappers or for people just discovering this popular hobby for the first time.
