It’s really, really tough to choose just a couple photos of your child to scrapbook sometimes. And, if you’re caught in a time crunch and just don’t have time to sort through dozens of pictures, maybe you need to try something new . . . using all of them!

While we often look at scrapbook pages that include just two or three photos, there’s absolutely no reason not to use more. There are lots of quick ideas for scrapbooking with several photos at a time and the more page you cover with photos, the less adorning you need to do, which means faster albums. It’s a win/win situation, especially if you don’t really like journaling!
Today we’ll look at a few of these ideas.

The Collage Scrapbook Page

This is a fairly simple page to do. You’ve probably done collages when you were a kid, cutting up magazine photos and pasting them onto a paper . . . well, you can do the same things with your photos.

The trick to making this work when doing digital scrapbooking is to rub out the edges to make them rougher . . . it helps create a softer look, as I’ve done here.

With a collage, you’ll want to have a theme. For example, you might want to do a collage on your little one’s birthday party, or perhaps a trip to the beach. If you’re feeling creative, you can use some extra embellishments like starfish stickers, ribbons, etc. to enhance the look. However, these types of scrapbook pages tend to be busy on their own, so it’s not a problem if you don’t have the time or inclination.

The Mosaic Scrapbook Page

Too many photos of your little one with his cute little facial expressions? If you just can’t choose, don’t! Turn those adorable shots into a mosaic . . . it’s a bit more organized than the collage scrapbook page, but it’s still a great way to get a lot of photos onto each page.

This project is easier to do digitally, since you can resize the photos to get just the right close up. It’s also much simpler to chop out the perfect square and line the photos up using the rulers and guides in your photo editing program.

I personally keep things simple and clean by using a square of plain colored paper on top of a patterned one as the background. This gives a sense of fun, but lets you focus on the actual photos.

The Shape Scrapbook Page

If you’re looking for something a bit more unique than just squares and mosaics, then why not try turning those cute photos into shapes? Cut them into stars, hearts or even snowflakes, depending on the season. Sprinkling stickers or other embellishments around the page can turn a plain scrapbook layout into something special, like these cute little stars.

Shapes make a super scrapbook page fun

Stars are just one shape option.

In this layout, I used two photos for each child, one of them as a baby, and a current photo. You can use any pictures you like, however. There are endless options. For little girls, a bunch of flowers with your sweet daughter at the center could be cute, or perhaps cars for little boys. Let your imagination go wild!

Using more photos on a page, you’ll find that it’s easier to get through that huge stack of pictures that is a result of the cool multi-click option on your camera. Try to design each page with a common theme and then go wild!
