Taking newborn photos can be tricky.  After all, you can’t ask a newborn to sit in a certain pose and wait for the perfect photo to be snapped!  In addition, newborns are not particularly active, which can make it difficult to capture a photo of them in the middle of some sort of adorable activity.  Yet, it is in this lack of activity that a newborn’s innocence can truly be captured.  In addition, by incorporating other subjects into the photo or by taking the photo from creative angles, you can truly capture an amazing moment in your newborn’s life.

Involving Siblings

If your newborn has an older sibling, he or she is the perfect addition to a newborn photograph.  In the photo below, for example, the addition of the newborn child’s older brother successfully shows the innocence of both the child and the newborn.  In addition, the overwhelming sense of love and admiration for his new baby brother is perfectly captured.

Capturing the Beautiful Parts

Sometimes, simply capturing small tidbits of the newborn child is a great way to show just how perfect and special a newborn truly is.  The photo of the newborn’s eyes, nose and mouth in the photo below shows a sweet and peaceful innocence.

The same effect is possible with other body parts as well, such as the photo of a newborn’s hand as shown below.

Enjoying Small Pleasures

Of course, a newborn really doesn’t have to do much of anything in order to look adorable and to tug at your heartstrings.  A photo of a newborn being cradled by his or her mother while sleeping and suckling on a pacifier can help capture beautiful memories.  By blurring out the background, as in the photo below, the focus is placed on the baby while creating a dreamlike appearance.
