Using Quotes in Scrapbooking your Baby Pictures
Not everyone has a lot to say about their photos, but if you want to put something special on a scrapbook page anyway, why not use a quote? It’s much faster than journaling and you can find quotes on just about anything.
Often, quotes can capture that special moment in your baby’s life better than if you struggled to come up with the words for it. And sometimes, you might just not want to journal on a page, but need a quick bit of text to add a little something.
You can either use quotes in digital scrapbooking, which is what I’ve done here, with the examples, all of which use Atomic Cupcake scrapbooking kits, or you can print them out onto sticker paper, regular paper or even vellum for a really special look. Try writing them with gold or silver ink to add a more elegant touch and experiment with fonts to get the right look.
How to Choose a Quote
The first thing you’ll need to do is decide what you want to capture with your scrapbooking page. For example, with this page, I wanted to emphasize the relationship my two sons have as brothers, a bond that is very strong, particularly because they are very close in age.
There were a number of quotes on brothers, but “A brother shares childhood memories and grown up dreams” fit best. Others that I considered included:
“A brother is a friend provided by nature.” - Legouve Pere
“Brothers and sisters are as close as hands and feet.” – Vietnamese Proverb
“Sometimes being a brother is even better than being a superhero.” – Marc Brown
The words that come to mind when you create your scrapbook page are the ones that you can use to search for that ideal quote. For example, if you are doing an album page of a mother and child, you might look up “motherhood” or “love”. For a shot like this next one, I used the search terms “boy” and “dirt” which came up with this:
“A perfect summer day to a little boy means a scrape on the knee, mud on his face and collecting bugs in garden.”
It works perfectly for this layout!
Where to Find Quotes
There are entire books dedicated to quotes, but you’ll find it a lot faster if you just search online! You can either jump into Google and type “quotes on” and then your search term, or go to one of the following sites and just see what comes up.
Adding quotes to your scrapbook pages can be a wonderful way to turn them into something even better than an artistic grouping of photos and embellishments. They can help you capture just what you wanted to say.

Scrapbooking can also be used for great gift ideas. Have you ever thought about taking the idea of a scrap book and just make it into a frame instead of an entire book?
